Illustrious art collectors formerly lived here, in beautiful homes that have now become museums that can be discovered around Parc Monceau…

The Jacquemart-André museum boasts a very handsome collection of 18th century paintings. Originally the aristocratic home of the couple Edouard André and Nélie Jacquemart, both 19th century art enthusiasts, this sumptuous building houses an equally grandiose garden. The little extra: take a break at the museum café after your visit.
The Nissim de Camondo museum was also a private home before becoming a museum. Located at the edge of Parc Monceau, it houses an impressive collection of 18th century furniture and objects, collected by its former owner Moïse de Camondo (until his death in 1935).
Enjoy the fresh air and relax in Parc Monceau, a large park in the English style where the local Parisians and business people like to take a break. Statues of major artists such as Maupassant or Chopin are dotted around the park.
Also near here, the Cernuschi Museum is one of the oldest in Paris. It was the former home of Henri Cernuschi, an enlightened art collector and banker who lived in the 19th century, who had a passion for China and Japan. On his death in 1896, he left his house and his entire collection to the City of Paris. The museum is now devoted to art from the Far East (China, Japan and Corea), and conserves more than 12,000 pieces, including a collection of more than 1,000 bronzes, making it the largest in the world!
