The Fête des jardins (Festival of Gardens) will take place on September 27th and 28th for the 18th year in a row. This year, the festival suggests setting off to discover wild flowers in Paris and the nearby suburbs. A sweet-smelling event!

The Fête des Jardins consists of 150 sites celebrating flowers and inviting you to (re)discover the green spaces of Paris, along with those of the neighbouring suburbs, and also woods, gardens belonging to religious communities, those that are state-managed or shared gardens… Walks, concerts, guided visits and other events are on offer during this somewhat countrified celebration. Be led down the garden path this weekend!
More than 400 activities are on offer this year at the Fête des Jardins. To make your life easier, we have made a selection of some great places to visit where you can enjoy yourself, listen and observe… Presenting the Paris is beautiful happy list!

Unusual…

The Luxembourg Garden will be celebrating honey and opening the doors to its beehives/bee keeping school for the occasion. Guided visits and demonstrations of floral art are also on offer.
The singing gardeners at Parc Monceau. An unusual singer/musician duo will improvise as they stroll around the park. An attraction to raise a smile… Performances at 3.30, 4.30 and 5.30 pm.
Jardin de la Folie-Titon in the 11th. Fishing workshops are on offer, ideal for young children.
Promenade Pereire, from porte Maillot to place du Maréchal Juin. Visits, exhibition, workshops… a multitude of activities are on the programme! We recommend the “blank page” workshop at the Rose Garden where you can join in the collective creation of a work of art in the company of an artist/gardener. Awaken your inner artist! And also on boulevard Pereire at 3.30, 4.30 and 5.30  pm, “Monsieur et Madame Jardinier”, a poetic comic duo.

Gardens to discover…

Head for Square de la Roquette or Folie-Titon or Gardette for guided visits “from garden to garden” (approximately 2 hours). On the trail of Parisian gardens…
Visits and encounters at the Thermopyles shared garden in the 14th.
Between place Balard and rue Olivier de Serres in the 15th, there are some guided visits of gardens around the petite ceinture, the former railway line that circled Paris.
In the 20th, the garden “Les haies partagées” is reaping what is has sown and offering visitors its harvest (blackcurrants, rhubarb, vineyard peaches, etc.) along with games and quizzes on the subject of flowers. There is also a drawing competition for children.
