Small fashion and interior decoration designers and accessories of all kinds mingle here to make Babel both modern and delicately vintage. This is a spot you should not miss when visiting Canal Saint-Martin.
A happy blend of the old and the new
This is the kind of concept store we like: you can find objects that have a soul. And not just an old soul like the second-hand objects on offer in the shop and the decorative old furniture given a new lease of life by designer Vanessa Doger, the mistress of the house. There are also objects that have been carefully chosen from their little something special that creates an emotional connection. In this way, there is no one particular type of object, but a genuine Tower of Babel with clothing, small decorative objects, books and plants. In short, Vanessa has created the ideal boutique in which she has devoted a large space to young French creation in a setting that is both bohemian and creative.
Creativity and more creativity
Bringing together the designs of other people is good, but adding one’s own creations is even better! This is the latest project that is in the pipeline. Babel is transforming into a factory and will soon be offering in-house collections in limited series. Wearing this new hat, Vanessa Doger has inaugurated her COAL line, 22 dreamy patterns in black and white that appear on paper, clothing and accessories. The concept store has even more surprises in store with exclusive designer collections and soon an e-shop and blog so that you can find out more about these new talents and their studios.
