The adventure of the Sentou brand and shops began in 1947 when Robert Sentou, a carpenter, began manufacturing furniture.
He opened his first shop in Paris in 1977 and rapidly made contact with young international designers to put their work on display. During the 1990s he recruited the young and talented Pierre Romanet, fresh from the Ecole Boulle school, and named him director of Sentou. The brand took off and developed a full range of furniture and decorative objects that exude colour and fun in a very international spirit. Two other shops opened in the Marais as well as a showroom for professionals. In a Zen atmosphere that lends itself to dreaminess, you can wander through each shop with and feel the desire to touch and caress the materials. Picture yourself in a Japanese garden among the Akari lamps by the designer and sculptor Isamo Noguchi, dream of your apartment with a set of Lalinde tables, lay back in a soft Coogee sofa. At Sentou, visitors also come to discover the latest creations by the brand’s pet designers, such as like the architect Alain Tavès, the ceramicist and artist Brigitte de Bazelaire and the creator of the M400 staircase in aluminium and the Cryptogramme stool Roger Tallon, as well as the signature Sentou range.
