Within the prestigious setting of the Théâtre de l’Odéon, this café welcomes visitors who are ready to quench their thirst…for culture.
In winter, the café is installed in the lobby of the theatre. It is the ideal occasion to have a front row seat to admire the sumptuous decor that is inspired by Antiquity: the mosaic floor, the line of marble columns, the ceiling moulds and the plaster statues with Greco-Roman stances are all to be found under an impressive crystal chandelier.
In summer, it gets even better! When the first fine days arrive, the café terrace is set out under the arches of the theatre and a little further away, on Place de l’Odéon. Away from the traffic, the outdoor terrace has a peaceful and exotic atmosphere. A little area with white parasols that one would better expect to find on a Florentine piazza than a Parisian terrace.
With all that, if you still have a little time to pay attention to the menu, you will see that the selection is limited, but very mouth-watering: marinated bass, grilled rib steak or the oyster platter, you have found the perfect place to treat yourself to a glass of champagne during the interval, enjoy a post-performance supper or simply sip a glass of wine in the sun after strolling around Saint-Germain des Près.
