They are two friends who met in Paris. Paul came from New Zealand, Christian from Florida. One came to Paris for a date, the other to study. They never left. The idea to create “Bike about Tours” came simply: “We had lots of friends who came to see us in Paris and we wanted to show them city by bike. That’s how the “Bike about Tours” adventure began”.
Bicycle tours in Paris, Versailles and the Champagne region
For the past ten years, they have been introducing Paris, along with Versailles and the Champagne region by bicycle. The Paris tour begins at the foot of Notre-Dame cathedral. Over the course of a one day tour, they will show you historic places (the interior of Philippe Auguste, the house of Victor Hugo…), secret places and gardens, unexpected locations (the Jim Morrison house, famous places from movies…) and very Parisian places (their favourite pastry shops…). Over the course of a day out on a bike, live Paris like a Parisian. The Versailles tour is an invitation to discover the palace as well as the gardens, the Grand and Petit Trianon (Marie-Antoinette’s pads), the forest of Versailles and its canal. A lunch interlude introduces a seasonal market where you can buy what you need to make a picnic and the friendly picnic takes place in a royal setting! The Champagne tour begins in Epernay in the heart of this legendary wine-growing region after a one hour train ride from Paris. The tour takes place using e-bikes (electric bikes so you don’t get too tired… ha ha!) and the tour allows you to discover big and small winegrowers who make Champagne (Moët & Chandon or Mercier), to visit the lovely Dom Perignon village and to make the most of this beautiful landscape of vines. The team is very friendly and will adapt to your requests. There are also personalised or family tours available. The tours are on offer all year round, but there are more of them in fine weather, of course. So what do Paul and Christian do in winter? Well, they run a café because they love coffee! And what is the name of their café? Le Peloton café! And the logo: 4 cyclists, and now you know why. Have a great tour in their company!
