When an automobile enthusiast takes you around Paris, it’s on board a Citroën DS, a legendary car from the 1950s to 70s. A genuine trip back in time to discover another side to Paris, brought to you by Hôtel Jules et Jim.

Geoffroy and his DS

Geoffroy is an associate at Hôtel Jules et Jim, but he is also a Citroën DS enthusiast. He is lucky enough to own a 1972 model that is almost brand new, the luxury “Pallas” model. On board his legendary car, he offers 90 minute tours to discover timeless and secluded Paris early in the morning when the streets are still quiet or at nightfall.

A legendary car

Why the DS? Quite simply because it is a legendary French car that was a revolution at the time of its manufacture, between 1955 and 1977. A genuine attraction at motor fairs, its design was a break with existing cars and its comfort was unparalleled. It was also technically innovative with its hydropneumatic suspension and power assisted steering… It was one of the first mass-produced cars to be equipped with pivoting headlights and electronics. General de Gaulle made it the presidential car and it has featured in countless films. A real star! Cruise Paris in a DS from Hôtel Jules et Jim – €220 (90 minutes) 11 rue des Gravilliers 75003 Paris
