Do you want to stretch your legs during your stay in Paris? Why not try an original and fun tour that combines sport with viewing the city in a different way? So, on a bike or on roller skates, all you have to do is choose your camp!
Paris Rando Vélo
Bike enthusiasts, this is the place to meet for a fun and friendly Parisian bike ramble! Paris Rando Vélo, an association of cycling enthusiasts, organises visits that last about 2 hours (or between 20km and 24km) to make the most of the city by bike. The tour leaves at 10pm at Place de l’Hôtel de Ville (75004). If you prefer to try the experience by day, the association organises a bike ride on the third Sunday of every month with a departure time of 11am. There’s no need to register and it’s free! The pace is moderate so that everyone can join in and the itineraries change every week. If you don’t have a bicycle of your own, there is a Vélib’ bike hire station at the start of the itinerary. www.parisrandovelo.fr
Paris on skates
If you want to glide around Paris, the association Rollers & Coquillages organises outings that cover around 20 kilometres. The tour starts at Place de la Bastille at 2.30pm and ends between 5pm and 5.30pm, but nobody will mind if you stop early! www.rollers-coquillages.org If you are an expert, Pari Roller is inviting you on a Friday night unlike any other. The participants cross Paris over a 3 hour course that voluntarily contains some small difficulties such as cobblestones or downhill runs and the pace is pretty fast. Meet at 10pm at Place Raoul Dautry in the 14th arrondissement. pari-roller.com
